If you're just getting into guitar, and you're looking for a portable amplifier capable of delivering great tones at loud volumes, consider the Blackstar ID:CORE V3 40W Portable Stereo Digital Modeling Combo Amplifier. This modeling amplifier offers six different sounds right from one amp, as well as 12 built-in stereo effects. This amp is more than enough for practicing, rehearsing with a band, or busking live on the street—when used with a separately available PB-1 powerbank.

The amplifier offers a broad array of tones built right into the hardware, but it truly shines when you control its settings with Blackstar's deep editor software, which offers a greater degree of tonal sculpting. A USB connector lets you to edit your tones with this software, and also facilitates the ability to record from your amp directly to your computer. With the built-in footswitch jack, the amp supports remote control over select functions by means of a separately available footswitch.

6 Classic Blackstar Voices

The Voice control has six different channels, and when used together with Blackstar's patented ISF control, you can get the exact tone you want:
  • Clean Warm: Classic clean, dynamic
  • Clean Bright: Boutique, will break up when pushed hard
  • Crunch: Classic medium-gain overdrive
  • Super Crunch: More gain and punch than Crunch
  • OD 1: Hot-rodded master volume overdrive
  • OD 2: Mid-boosted overdrive
Multiple Connections
Apart from the usual instrument connection, the amp has a connection for playing along to media players. Simply plug in your favorite compatible device and you're good to go.

Also, the amp provides a user-configurable Cab Rig output, which updates the emulated speaker output to give you a more realistic sound, allowing user-configurable controls for cabinet and room environments. Indeed, the Cab Rig software that corresponds to this output allows for similar controls to what you'd find on a high-end standalone cab-simulator product. Use this output if you want to record your guitar, but don't want to mic the cabinet or record digitally over USB.
Harware Tonal Controls
The ID:Core combo amplifier features two controls that allow you to design your own sound. First, a Voice control lets you switch among six overall voicings. Go between Clean Warm, Clean Bright, Crunch, Super Crunch, Overdrive 1, and Overdrive 2 voicings, depending on the music you want to play. The amp also offers an ISF control, which is a staple feature on high-end Blackstar amplifiers. By using the Voice control together with ISF, you can easily dial in a variety of sounds, giving you the ability to bring the sounds you hear in your head to life.
Superwide Stereo
Blackstar's unique superwide stereo technology gives you an immersive sound experience that will have you playing along to your MP3 backing tracks for hours.
12 Stereo Effects
12 wide/stereo effects are included, and you can store these effects settings with your sound.
PB-1 Power Bank Compatibility
This amp works with the separately available PB-1 Power Bank, so you can use the ID:CORE 40 anywhere you'd like.
Store Your Sounds
