This is a set of Elixir Nanoweb-coated bass guitar strings; the original and most-popular strings coating for extended tone life and smooth feel. Elixir’s Nanoweb coating is still the leading guitar and bass strings coating. You can feel this coating and it’s loved by many players.
This nickel-plated steel set provides full, rich, and balanced tone with a good balance of clarity and warmth. The Nanoweb coating is tonally transparent but adds a smooth, polished feel and reduces finger noise. Elixir’s flagship coating seals the entire string inside an impermeable barrier which keeps outs all moisture, oils, and dirt - the stuff that usually kills strings. This means the strings can last up to 3x longer - well, that’s the official line, however we have evidence of Elixir strings lasting well over a year! After substantial playing, and towards the end of their stated life you may start to see some fraying of the coating around the high-impact areas (picking position) but that’s pretty much cosmetic and the strings will keep going, and going, and going… !
