The Gibson G-45 Standard features a gorgeous Walnut body that ensures focused lows, sweet-sounding mids and crisp highs. With its dreadnought-esque shape, vibrant-sounding Sitka Spruce top and traditional non-scalloped bracing, the Gibson G-45 Standard projects plenty of volume.
Utile has been used to construct the G-45's neck; a material that is akin to Mahogany with its density and reddish colour. Adding greater tonal depth and richness, this neck is topped with a smooth rosewood fingerboard and standard-sized frets for a comfortable and familiar playing experience. The neck has been carved to Gibson's "Advanced Response" profile, which strikes the perfect balance between thin and thick.
Gibson's G-45 Standard convincingly transfers its wonderful tone through its Fishman Sonitone under-saddle pickup. Ensuring that the instrument sounds natural and broad when plugged directly into a PA or acoustic amplifier, this guitar also features sound hole-mounted controls for balancing its EQ.
Tuning stability is important on all guitars, which is why the G-45 is kitted out with a set of Grover Mini Rotomatic tuners. Beautifully machined, these tuners have a smooth action that allows for ultra-precise pitch control.
The G-45 Standard builds on the revolutionary new G-45 series platform to provide the perfect mix of tone, performance, and traditional Gibson style for all players and every stage. It is hand-built in our Bozeman, Montana factory using time-tested Gibson build techniques like hide-glued dovetail neck joints and domed top braces along with modern specs like slimmer body depths and Advanced Response neck profiles.
The G-45 Standard also features a gloss top finish, dense Richlite fingerboard, Soft Diamond inlays, and top and back binding. A solid Sitka spruce top and solid walnut back and sides deliver crisp sounds with plenty of wonderful overtones while a Fishman Sonitone pickup captures every nuance for easy plug-and-play at home, in the studio or on stage.
