A 39-inch classical guitar with a solid cedar top and sapele back and sides in a Natural finish - a straightforward nylon-string build for classical technique or fingerstyle playing, without premium-tier pricing.
A Classic Nylon-String Build
A sapele back and sides pair with either a spruce or cedar top depending on finish, the two most common classical-guitar top woods, giving you a genuine choice in tonal character within the same 39-inch body.
A Neck Built For Classical Technique
A mahogany neck with a rosewood fingerboard and 19 frets follows standard classical guitar proportions - a wider, flatter neck than a steel-string guitar, built for the thumb-and-finger technique classical playing calls for.
Hardware Built To Last
A rosewood bridge and chrome-gold classical machine heads round out the build - classical guitar tuners you turn by hand, not the sealed geared tuners found on steel-string guitars.
SQOE traces its name back to a Spanish guitar-making lineage - the Esquivel family, who by SQOE's own account have handcrafted guitars since 1883 - and builds its identity today around the backronym "Sound Quality Over Experience." Guitars sold under the SQOE name are manufactured in China, with a catalog spanning classical, folk, dreadnought, and electric models. The Classic-Series 39-inch classical guitars, including the EC3968 and EC3968C, sit in SQOE's traditional nylon-string line-up.
