The SUB Series StingRay “Ray4HH’ is the latest addition to the hugely popular SUB Series line from Sterling. This bass is an evolution of the Sterling SUB series, maintaining the attention to detail and build quality of the previous models, while catering to what many bass players expect from a modern instrument. It delivers all of this at an affordable price point.
Compared to its predecessor, the RAY4HH features two upgraded Sterling by MusicMan designed, low-noise humbucking pickups. They boast a 5-way switch, that when partnered with the onboard active preamp, provides you with a versatile foundation for when it comes to achieving your desired sound. The ceramic humbuckers used in the RAY4HH create a stronger magnetic field to feed the 9v on board active preamp, which gives this bass that iconic Stingray growl. The 2 humbuckers will give you total control of your sound. Use the warmer neck position for thicker sounds and the bridge pickup for more clarity and bite; or simply blend the two together!
Keeping in line with previous models in the SUB series, Sterling have continued to use the 2-band active EQ, however, with the two humbuckers, they have combined this with a 5-way pickup selector switch that grants you total tonal freedom. The active preamp has controls for volume, bass and treble, which offer maximum flexibility when finding your sound.
By utilising the full cut & boost of bass & treble frequencies, the wide range of tones you can create guarantee that you will discover a sound that's ready for any musical situation.
